Under the direction of the National Director, Corporate and Cause Partnerships, the Director, Corporate and Cause Partnerships has responsibility for planning and implementing an aggressive fundraising program with major corporations.  Strong focus will be placed on generating cause-related marketing alliances from new corporate prospects, including engaging high-level volunteer board members in accessing their networks to open doors.  Strong emphasis will be placed on managing major corporate accounts to ensure deliverables are met, while building and renewing corporate sponsor pool.  Activities also include solicitation of corporate sponsorships for special events and active participation in a high-functioning, highly collaborative results-oriented development team. 


Location: Work remotely - Must live in the Northwest, Pacific, Southwest or Midwest region



  • Develop and implement aggressive solicitation of corporate support; develop and maintain knowledge of corporate giving interests, staff and trends, with emphasis on region-based corporations.
  • Responsible for meeting annual corporate fundraising goals for renewals and new business.
  • Develop, manage and evaluate strategic alliances with corporations.
  • Function as an integral member of corporate resource development team; assist in all areas including planning, solicitation, implementation and evaluation.
  • Serve as primary contact for customer service issues for corporate partners, handling directly or forwarding to appropriate resource(s) for resolution.
  • Monitor activity via reports and frequent customer contact; develop and deliver formal performance reports to each assigned account at least once annually.
  • Develop and execute a communications strategy for assigned corporate partners.
  • Participate in negotiations and contract renewals for corporate accounts.
  • Create dynamic presentation packages for new corporate prospects and renewals.



  • Maintain effective working relationship with corporate partners’ management teams. This includes coordinating with appropriate personnel at BGCA national headquarters, agencies, local Boys & Girls Club organizations, and local media.  Prompt response to customer needs is paramount.
  • Assist with other projects as required by National Director, Corporate and Cause Partnerships and the National Vice President, Corporate and Cause Partnerships.

No direct Reports. May monitor and coordinate the work of temporary employees and student interns



  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications or related education/ experience equivalency.
  • Minimum of five years of demonstrated successful resource development, sales and/or account management experience; successful track record with planning, managing and initiating corporate relationships with the non-profit sector is essential; experience developing cause marketing campaigns and working with high level corporate representatives and volunteer Board members is a plus.


Proficiency in prioritizing tasks; ability to think strategically; strong project and time management skills; excellent verbal and written presentation skills; superior interpersonal skills; problem resolution skills and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.  Demonstrated high standards of ethics and integrity.  Must be a self starter with strong leadership, management, and communication skills. Ability to build and manage project budgets is required. 


High energy level, comfortable planning, managing and performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.  Superior interpersonal and negotiation skills.  Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature, flexible.  Good reasoning, abilities and sound judgment.   Physical requirements include: sight, hearing, sitting for more than four hours each day and other physical requirements required to complete essential functions of the position.
