Licensing Project Manager
General Summary:Manages the operations of the company’s outbound licensing activities, inclusive of: Product Development, Contract and Financial Reporting, Product Sales to Licensees, Management of Licensing Software, and Developing Marketing Communications to internal Crayola stakeholders and licensee base. Leads product development process from design submission through launch.

  • PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Project manages the product development for 800 products annually from 70 different licensees.
  • Project manages multi-stage development process of licensed products from ideation to retail shelf, ensuring compliance to product development requirements: signed contracts, QA audit documents and Safety testing documentation.
  • Establishes strong relationships with licensee Product Development and Operations teams to ensure a long lead development pipeline reinforcing innovation and consumer led insights.
  • Resolves product development differences between licensees and extended team to ensure collaborative win-win solutions
  • Manages logistics through procurement, supply chain, customer care and logistics to ensure products arrive on schedule. Maximizes profitability of core product sales to licensees for inclusion in product. Maintains reports on product sale productivity and elevates potential shortfall issues.
  •  Project manages extended team to ensure compliance for timely turnaround of internal/external submissions and alignment on concept, design and graphics. Consolidates direction from all stakeholders to ensure one voice to licensee development teams.
  • OPERATIONS: Manages internal operations including licensing software system, licensee scorecard evaluations, royalty collection, and internal/external communications

  • Negotiates contract terms and manages relationship with contract/product development database supplier. Troubleshoots issues and implements changes to procedures with licensees and module development with software provider.
  • Manages software training for licensees to ensure integrity of contract information in system.
  • Oversees licensee operational scorecards audits and resolves shortfalls with Crayola Quality Assurance and licensing account managers.
  • Organizes licensee’s Semiannual/quarterly line reviews, licensee orientations, and product development meetings.
  • Develops and executes communication strategy to highlight licensee initiatives to internal/external audiences.
  • Works with account managers and finance to ensure accuracy and compliance of financial payments, reporting, and internal accounting as outlined in licensee contracts. Elevates issues to internal/licensee accounting departments and account management to resolve discrepancies. Works with account managers to prepare quarterly finance reports.



  • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing discipline desired
  • Min 5 years’ business experience with preferably 3 years’ experience in licensing preferably in product development
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required including the ability to communicate in a firm and direct manner.
  • Detail oriented with excellent time management skills; ability to effectively handle multiple assignments in a constantly changing environment and set priorities and manage time to hit key deliverables each day
  • Proficient skills with Microsoft word, excel, and power point
  • Basic database management skills.
  • Self-directed and able to work independently
  • Travel 10%
