Title: Copywriter



Essential Responsibilities for a Marketing Copywriter:

  • Develop, produce, and maintain compelling and engaging logical and website well-written content such as product information, blog articles, social media, buying guides, marketing collateral copy, and other company information presented at Six Flags properties
  •  Accountable for checking all the content being advertised is truthful and complies with codes of advertising practice;
  •  Collaborate with other members of the marketing team to create engaging brand and product content in support of the overall marketing strategy;
  •  Post and moderate communications between Six Flags and consumers using technologies such as blogs, discussion boards, product reviews, social media, and other user generated content.
  •  Maintain a schedule of regular communication with the VP of Marketing to ensure on-line descriptive content is accurate and fresh;
  •  Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), with emphasis on creative writing and the ability to monitor its effect on placement of Six Flags in the major search engines;
  •  Provide weekly reporting to the Marketing Manager;
  •  Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Marketing Manager.


Primary Qualifications and Professional Skills:

  •   Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and Excel;
  •  In-depth understanding of Search Engine Optimization and SEO best practices;
  •  Exceptional English reading and writing skills, with emphasis on proper spelling, grammar, sentence structure, and punctuation;
  •  Constant communication with team members using phone, email, and instant messaging systems. II. Personal Skills and Abilities:
  •  Very strong verbal and written communication;
  •  Self-motivated person who takes personal initiative;
  •  Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work independently with a minimum of supervision;
  •  Excellent interpersonal skills including ability to quickly develop and retain new concepts and practices;
  •  Strong organizational and time management skills;
  •  Self-motivated with a desire for quality and willingness to improve;
  •  Be highly creative and imaginative;
  •  Work well in a team environment;
  •  Be able to work under pressure;

Experience and Education:

  •   2-5 years’ experience writing and editing text for marketing such as web, print, and social media
  •  Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications and/or advertising or equivalent experience in business, restaurant, or related fields preferred;
  •  Experience social media marketing preferred;
  •  Experience in search engine marketing preferred;
  •  Familiarity with content management systems a plus;
