Title: Partnerships Marketing Specialist



The Specialist, Partnership Marketing is responsible for researching, developing and executing sponsorship and partnership programs that support the national Macy’s brand with primary emphasis on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. This position is responsible for sales and fulfillment initiatives through sponsorships across the Macy’s organization. This role is the key liaison to Macy’s creative, advertising, operations, production, external communications and strategic planning departments for all Parade sponsors. This position networks with a combination of senior level executives, internal and external resources, including non-vendor/third party consumer products, services and entertainment partners.   


Essential Functions:

• Research, develop and execute national sponsorships that support (financially and creatively) Macy’s national campaigns and iconic events (Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular, Macy’s Flower Show, Macy’s Holiday Events)

• Manage all stages of the strategic development and creative execution of events by managing work flow (presentation materials, timelines, budgets, approvals, etc.)

• Manage parade sponsorships from conception to completion; ensure the delivery of agreed contractual benefits successfully

• Implement sponsorship strategies in order to maximize revenue

• Foster strong working relationship with key internal and external stakeholder while serving as a strategic marketing partner providing day-to-day integration and coordination of programs

• Create and maintain strong relationships within the sponsorship community

• Initiate the planning and implementation of the 100th Anniversary of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade activities to achieve identified objectives

• Develop and prepare sales proposals, marketing materials and post event re-caps for potential and confirmed marketing partners


Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years’ experience developing and executing national promotions and marketing plans required

  • Established success at generating new business and cultivating strong relationships

  • Proven track record of developing compelling presentation materials and proposals

  • Practices open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner. 

  • Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels.

  • Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs.

  • Advance knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Illustrator
