Title: Category Manager, Hardlines



WildBrain is looking for a Category Manager, Hardlines to join our Peanuts team! The Category Manager, Hardlines will be responsible for building and managing Peanuts' domestic licensing program under the guidance of the Director of Category Management.

This person will directly manage existing partners, prospect and acquire new licensees in addition to working closely with other PWW departments including the VP, Global Brand Experiences, & Publishing and Director of Retail and Partnerships to drive category initiatives.


What You’ll Do:

  • Manage Peanuts licensees in the following categories: Toys & Games; Gifts and Collectibles

  • Secure new licensees tied to specific revenue goals and annual growth for the overall PWW domestic business.

  • Manage day to day business including all aspects of category management: financials, contracts (new deals, amendments and renewals), category analysis, product development strategy and data for retail placement.

  • Work closely with VP and Director of Category Management for management of master licensees for Publishing and Print on Demand categories.

  • Work with VP and Director to develop retail strategies for categories at all levels of retail and ecommerce.

  • Domestic travel is required.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the licensing industry working in a sales and or brand management function pitching properties, securing deals, negotiating deal points and managing licensees; preferably in character or entertainment.

  • Has existing relationships and contacts with key players across hardlines categories, retail relationships are a plus.

  • Motivated self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative, creativity and excellent work ethic.

  • Flexible team player with ability to work collaboratively across the company.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to think strategically to complete tasks in a timely fashion.

  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of administrative organization.

  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

  • Is a problem solver that acts decisively and demonstrates good judgement.

  • Thrives in a fast paced, changing environment that necessitates working on many different projects simultaneously.

  • A solid understanding of ROI, market and revenue development, with P&L and budget management skills.

  • College degree, preferably in Business or related field.

  • Must be proficient in MS Office.
