Title: National Vice President, Corporate & Cause Partnerships (Remote)




The National Vice President, Corporate & Cause Partnerships (NVPCCP) is responsible for strategizing, planning, implementing, and managing a comprehensive fundraising line of business with an emphasis on major corporations and cause marketing in support of the overall mission and fundraising priorities of the organization. The position oversees all aspects of a high-functioning and achieving sales, account management, and cause marketing team of 40+, expanding and contracting, as in an agency setting.  Under the supervision of the Senior Vice President of Corporate, Cause Marketing & Special Events (SVPCCE), the NSPCC will work collaboratively with other lines of business within Resource Development and others within the Movement, especially Marketing, Youth Development, Club Services, local Clubs and Alliances. A strong focus will be placed on generating investments from new prospects, diversifying the overall corporate portfolio, and creating an extreme collaboration for long-term and continued success.  This position is responsible for personally assisting in and securing significant multi-year partnerships with corporations.  This position has the responsibility for high-level interaction and strategic involvement with corporate decision-makers and ensures successful, long-standing partnerships.  To be effective, this position must: build constructive and collaborative relationships internally and externally, at all levels, to ensure alignment to priorities; deliver strong account management and execution; internal and external resources; ensure on-target financial performance, and satisfy contracted deliverables. 


Secure, Steward and Engage Corporate and Cause Partners
• Develop and implement an assertive strategy to solicit and secure significant corporate support; develop and maintain knowledge of front-leading corporate giving interests and trends with a focus to the future.
• Identify corporate prospects of high strategic and financial value and develop a national strategy for securing new corporate partners as well as maintaining, renewing, and upgrading current partners at a high level with minimum attrition.
• Meet or exceed annual fundraising goals overall, as well as maintain a good balance of renewals and new business; meet and exceed any other agreed-upon quantitative goals on an annual basis (ex. pass-through, restricted).
• Coach members of the corporate and cause partnerships team on how to create and sell more effectively and consistently, leading by example; examine sales cycle proficiency on an ongoing basis for the team and team members.
• NVPCCP will manage a personal portfolio of high-level national corporate accounts, as appropriate, working with and through the teams and main points of contact, intersecting when most appropriate and useful.
• Monitor activity and progress overall of corporate and cause revenue reporting in a variety of settings via weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings to a variety of audiences including team, department, Senior Leadership, and Boards.
• Ensure the development and delivery of formal performance reports to each account at least once annually, or as agreed upon, and review performance reports of all corporate investments secured by the team.
• Maintain effective working relationships with corporate partners’ management teams, including coordinating with appropriate personnel at Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) and local Boys & Girls Club organizations; prompt response is paramount.
• Provide leadership to the Account Management team and direct supervision ensuring that corporate partners deepen their engagement and renew their investments based on solid execution of deliverables and stewardship.
• Partner with National Director (Account Management), to lead a cross-department team to develop, monitor, track, and report against the management of grants, on a regular basis.
• NVPCCP will manage agency relationship(s) in support of all the above, using organizational resources wisely, efficiently, and effectively for maximum impact.

Lead Corporate and Cause Partnership Fundraising Program and Ensure Reputation
• Do whatever it takes to position BGCA as the philanthropic investment of choice and maintain an industry-leading position as a nonprofit partner.
• Working with the Chief Development and Public Affairs Officer (CDPAO) and SVPCCE, lead strategic planning, goal setting, and achieving the national corporate and cause fundraising goal in support of the Movement’s mission and strategic fundraising priorities and plans.
• Direct internal teams in creating and updating strategic corporate sales materials, especially core materials, that appeal to partners and reflect organizational priorities and plans. Constantly strive to deliver these in the most effective manner and platforms.
• In partnership with the Resource Development Writing & Communications team, ensure that the corporate and cause team has the training, tools, and resources to create, sell, and manage dynamic partnerships and cause promotions.

• Hire, train, supervise, evaluate, and develop a successful high functioning team of National Directors and other staff according to BGCA’s policies and procedures, ensuring the overall smooth functioning of the staff, and consulting your supervisor and appropriate Human Resources staff as needed.
• Assure and monitor the effective and efficient management and operations of the Corporate & Cause Partnerships Team.
• Serve as a key member of the Resource Development Extended Leadership team.
• Conduct and/or participate in state, regional, and national staff meetings and conferences.
• Work closely with the SVPCCE and CDPAO to ensure all relationships are managed and leveraged effectively, efficiently, and to highest-use philanthropy for BGCA, including other members of staff as appropriate.
• Research, identify and investigate new opportunities for funding from a wide variety of sources to expand and diversify the investor base and lead to overall BGCA fundraising success.
• Lead special projects or national assignments as required and requested by SVPCCE, CDPAO.
• Participate and assist in the development of best practices, policy determination, and management decisions of the Corporate & Cause Partnerships team as well as the overall national Resource Development and other teams

• Direct and indirect supervisory responsibility for the Corporate & Cause Partnerships team of The Resource Development Department.
• The position manages a team of six direct reports: National Directors (4), a Manager of Collaboration and Operations, and a Specialist (Assistant).


• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related education/experience equivalency
• Minimum of ten years successful corporate fundraising, sales, and /or marketing experience
• Demonstrated track record of strategizing, planning, managing, and initiating corporate relationships within the non-profit sector, with a proven track record of significant growth
• Experience with cause marketing campaigns
• Experience working with high-level corporate representatives and volunteer board members
• Demonstrated successful experience in leading, supervising, and developing staff
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, fundraising software, and database systems
