Title: VP Brand Marketing



Job Summary:

The VP, Brand Marketing for Sega of America (SOA) will play an important role in leading a department of 20+ team members, growing and improving SOAs western marketing capabilities and help lead the transformation of the companys marketing organization from a traditional, packaged goods-centric team to a direct to consumer, digital content organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor the Brand Marketing team to develop and apply best practices across our portfolio of games, fostering great communication and collaboration with studio partners and regional marketing teams, to establish and improve processes to successfully launch games globally.

  • Develop the marketing strategy for our portfolio of titles, including product positioning, target audiences, campaign plans, creative development, business models, and launch timings.

  • Define and maintain the overall brand planning process, including milestones, deliverables, and accountabilities from product inception through launch.

  • Partner with Sales teams to ensure that timely marketing plans are agreed and executed to meet and exceed market-wide sales objectives across physical and digital channels to expand our global footprint across NASA & EMEA.

  • Work with Studios, Corporate Planning & Business Development teams on long-term franchise and product plans that anticipates opportunities across platforms, languages, and geographies.

  • Has financial responsibility for marketing budgets, strategies, initiatives, and advertising related investments for franchises across all releases in NASA & EMEA.

  • Work closely with the Marketing Services department to ensure strong collaboration and fully integrated planning across all aspects of our marketing functions, including Consumer Insights, Media Planning, CRM, 1st Parties and Events, and Creative Services.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum 15 years proven experience directing a department of marketing professionals, preferably within the games, entertainment and/or online industries.

  • Deep understanding and experience working on games and/or direct to consumer digital services.

  • Must have broad experience and understanding of all facets of the marketing discipline including market research, product positioning, consumer promotions, online innovation, and stellar creative development.

  • Self-motivated, passionate leader comfortable working within a fast-paced environment.

  • Exercises a high degree of influence and ability to impact team performance among direct reports, managers, peers, outside agencies, and executive management.

  • Strategic leader and thinker with the ability to create exciting, break through marketing plans.

  • Experience working with Japanese / International game developers & key stakeholders from different cultures

  • Knowledge of gaming, tech, and/or media space; including key industry and competitive players

  • Inspirational leadership - driving transformational business outcomes without being ultimately in charge of every component or team in play
