Warner Bros. Pictures partnered with Ball Park Brand for the theatrical release of 42. Ball Park Brand hosted an online sweepstakes via Facebook entitled "42 Days of 42" where prizes were given out for 42 days. To enter, contestants had to "like" Ball Park Brand's Facebook fan page and fill out the online registration form. Contestants could enter daily by answering trivia questions. One extra sweepstakes entry was given to those contestants who "shared" the sweepstakes on Twitter. Daily prizes were given for the duration of the promotion. Prizes included 42 Movie Gift Pack, T-Shirt Gift Pack, Grilling Kit, Baseball Jerseys, Outdoor Tailgating Kits, Sporting Goods Gift Cards, Grocery Gift Cards and PlayStation Gift Packs. Three daily prize winners were selected and received a private VIP hometown screening of the movie for up to 50 guests. One grand prize winner was awarded with a three-day trip for two to the National baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY that also included airfare and hotel accommodation. The sweepstakes ran from March 4, 2013 through April 13, 2013. 42 released in theaters April 12, 2013.
