A+E Network’s History Channel and Ancestry partnered to promote AMERICA: PROMISED LAND. History Channel’s 43 million social media followers received off-air content from the four-hour series, which included video vignettes and interviews Dr. Catherine Ball, chief scientific officer of Ancestry, as well as an interactive map which overlaid Ancestry’s consumer genomics database. The promotion also included a sweepstakes which offered viewers the chance to win an Ancestry DNA kit. The sweepstakes period ran from May 25 - June 22, 2017.
