American Cancer Society and CITY Furniture


CITY Furniture and the American Cancer Society have teamed up to raise awareness of breast cancer through in-store fundraising campaigns, social media promotions, and employee engagement activations at Making Strides Against Breast Cancer events.

During the month of October, all CITY Furniture and Ashley Home Store locations installed elaborate table-top displays filled with amazing, professionally hand-carved, Pink Pumpkins and signage that drove fundraising directly to the American Cancer Society in their showrooms and in generous community partner locations across the entire state of Florida! Customers were encouraged to take photos and share on social media. Community partners are asked to donate a minimum of $1,500 to receive their very own Pink Pumpkins display. CITY Furniture set an ambitious goal of $750,000 for the 2022 Pink Pumpkins campaign.

Additionally, CITY Furniture and their community partners participated in Making Strides events in Broward, Orlando, and Tampa through sponsorship and team fundraising where store employees formed teams and fundraised for these events to support their local communities.

To raise even more funds, CITY Furniture added a “Test Rest” promotion where customers were invited to participate in an in-store 8-minute mattress Test Rest. Every customer that participated received a $25 gift card, and CITY Furniture donated $25 to ACS. As an added bonus, CITY Furniture partnered with their Test Rest vendor, Elite Rewards, to match 10% of the donations.

For their 2022 partnership, CITY Furniture also helped ACS spread awareness of the importance of cancer prevention by encouraging partners to take the “Get Screened” pledge to increase cancer screening rates among their employees.

CITY Furniture has reported a 10% increase in mattress sales during the promotional period of this partnership.
