From the beginning in 2002 until the farewell season of 2016, Ford was established as American Idol's longest standing partner with 15 seasons of innovative, first-in-class integrations.

As one of the first to incorporate brand partnerships, American Idol teamed with Ford to collaboratively focus on branding needs.

Popular integrations included:

  • Finalist Giveaway
    • Idol finalists were gifted with brand new Ford vehicles! Rolling footage of the car appeared on the big screen in the background of the prizing moment!
  • Ford Music Videos
    • AI and Ford collaborated to refresh the Ford-owned interstitials in a contextually-relevant way. The Ford music videos provided the opportunity to spotlight mulitple Ford vehicles, and demonstrate their attributes and features. Outros for each video were conceived jointly and designed to more seamlessly connect back to the live show in order to increase authenticity to the viewing audience.
  • Ford Animated Chyron
    • Ford's animated graphic was used in-show through all episodes, featuring Ford custom messaging.
