Universal Pictures teamed with Walmart to promote the theatrical release of HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON: THE HIDDEN WORLD.

The promotion consisted of a touring VR experience tied to the film. Walmart set up these installions in front of its stores in 16 cities such as Dallas, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and more.

The themed VR experience took place in tents set up in front of Walmart stores in which fans could strap on VR goggles and sit in motion-activated chair. They then took an approximately five-minute virtual flight and interacted with film characters Astrid, Hiccup, Toothless, Hookfang and more. After going through the VR tent, fans could shop at an immersive branded gift shop.

The promotion kicked off in Burbank on February 15 and culminated in Bentonville, Arkansas on April 9, 2019.
