Partnership:

JASON REEVES and Vespa

Description:

Warner Bros. Records and Vespa teamed up to promote JASON REEVES with The Vespa Experiment, a California tour featuring singer/songwriter JASON REEVES and musicians Brendan James and Amber Rubarth. The two-week tour of the California coastline was intended to raise awareness about global warming. For the tour, the three rode Vespas up the California coast. They stayed on campgrounds instead of hotels. Environmental advocacy organization Greenpeace also joined as a partner. Attendees signed a giant postcard banner and were prodded to write letters, make phone calls to local representatives, and generally dial up political activism. The musicians -- who were trailed by photographers and a film crew -- performed at clubs, park amphitheaters, mountaintops, and campgrounds along their route, and participated in local-area advocacy efforts. The footage and photographs were edited into webisodes posted on each of the artists' Web sites and at www.myspace.com/TheVespaExperiment. The tour began in Carlsbad on April 30, 2009 and then headed north, hitting various cities, including Los Angeles, Monterey and ending in San Francisco on May 12, 2009.
