Description:
Lollapalooza teamed up with Honda to promote green initiatives at the annual music festival August 7-9, 2009, with the Rock & Recycle Contest. Festival attendees were given Lolla Green Cards in each program. Attendees could then do "green" deeds to collect stamps on their cards. These deeds included picking up recyclables, taking public transit, riding a bike or refilling a water bottle instead of buying a new one. Once an attendee accumulated 3 stamps, he/she could visit the Honda tent at the festival and submit the card. One Grand Prize winner received a 2010 Honda Insight hybrid. The promotion began April 21, 2009 and ran until the end of the festival on August 9, 2009. The promotion was supported with a dedicated section on the Lollapalooza website.
