Universal Pictures and McDonald’s partnered for the theatrical release of MINIONS. After a Minion-centric commercial for Despicable Me 2, McDonald’s released two new TV spots for the upcoming MINIONS, McDonald’s has released a number of Minions/ McDonald’s in anticipation of the new release including a spot where a Minion answers at the drive-thru window. McDonald’s also released new Minion’s shaped fries and provided a free Minion’s toy with many of the Happy Meals sold in the weeks prior to the movie. Also starting on July 7th, McDonald's offered an online sweepstakes that lasted until August 3, 2015.  The instant win game called “Minion Mania” was entered when McDonald’s customers purchased a Minion menu item and received an instant win.  Winners could win prizes including a Minions movie ticket, a trip to Universal Orlando, trip to Universal studios Hollywood, and food prizes as well as various others.
