Description:
Major League Baseball partnered with MGM Resorts to form the sport’s first gambling industry partner. The all-inclusive deal saw MGM Resorts activate advertisements across multiple domestic and international platforms including MLB.com and MLB Network, with MGM Resorts having a brand presence in Japan as part of traveling baseball events such as MLB Road Show. MGM Resorts also gained access to MLB’s treasured statistical data, albeit on a non-exclusive basis. However, some enhanced stats were provided to MGM on an exclusive basis. MGM Resorts locations were labelled as “MLB-Authorized Gaming Operator” for digital and live gaming events. As part of the deal, MGM was granted the use of official league logos and marks. MGM had a visible presence at the so-called MLB Jewel Events, including the All-Star Game and the World Series.
