Description:

National Geographic teamed up with Instagram on an augmented reality promotion that allowed Instagram users to digitally explore nature.

The partnership consisted of a virtual Nat Geo expedition for Instagram Users that allowed them to virtually travel up Mt. Everest. Opening the AR feature on Instagram allowed users to virtually visit a base area of the mountain that could be explored in a 360-degree view. Users could also see their breath by opening their mouths as well as view a map of the area.

At the summit of the mountain, Instagram users could see a 360-degree panorama courtesy of National Geographic.
