The NBA, USA Today and 7-Eleven Inc. teamed up to promote The NBA Finals on ABC. Featured on several issues of the USA Today was a coupon for an NBA Hardwood Heroes Medallion. Consumers who presented the coupon and $2.99 at participating 7-Eleven stores received a medallion which featured an NBA player. A new player was featured every weekday and consumers had a chance to collect 30 medallions. The promotion began April 22, 2005 and was available until supplies lasted.
