Warner Bros. Pictures signed up Moët and Chandon as the official champagne for SEX AND THE CITY 2. The champagne company included movie tie-in ads in magazines such as Vanity Fair and Elle. Other promotions included billboard placements in Carrie’s NYC stomping grounds, a retail program, and movie preview events. Moët and Chandon also sponsored a “Champagne and Cinema” preview event which was held in 10 major U.S. cities. Some of film’s main stars also made surprise appearances in the preview events. Moët created cocktails in honor of the 4 key characters, appropriately titled, “The Fashionista”, “The Player”, “The Socialite”, and “The Bombshell”. U.S. retail outlets also featured bottles of champagne which gave $5-off coupons for tickets to the movie. The promotion ran during Q2 2010.
