Warner Bros. Pictures collaborated with 7-Eleven stores to publicize the release of the much anticipated motion picture, SHERLOCK HOLMES. As part of the movie? teaser campaign, customers were invited to play the role of detective by visiting the retailer? website, http://www.7-eleven.com/, and helping Holmes solve the mystery of apartment 221B Baker Street. In addition, customers who visited 7-Eleven stores were welcomed by characters in the film with clues in relation to the retailer? end of the year food and beverage deals. The clues were given through window banners, POP?, and co-branded coffee sleeves. Other promotional items included a link to the exclusive 7-Eleven microsite and scratch-off tickets. Those who chose to participate were given the opportunity to win up to $200,000. The promotion ran from November 16 through Christmas Day, 2009.
