Partnership:

SIMPLE STEPS TO HEALTHY FAMILIES: MOM'S HEALTH and DisneyFamily.com

Description:

In honor of National Women`s Health Week (May 9-15, 2010), DisneyFamily.com launched "Simple Steps to Healthy Families: Mom`s Health," a new resource to empower women to put their health on the top of their "To Do" list. DisneyFamily.com partnered with City of Hope who provided tips on decreasing cancer risk, a list of important health screenings, the latest superfoods research and survivor stories. Moms everywhere were invited to visit the site and learn simple steps they could take to live a longer and healthier life. The partnership with Disney Family.com provided an opportunity to build awareness and support for City of Hope’s new women’s cancers initiative. Joanne Mortimer, M.D., vice chair and professor in the Department of Medical Oncology & Therapeutics Research and head of City of Hope’s new women’s cancers program, participated in a national radio tour publicizing the “Month of Mom” promotion. In addition to DisneyFamily.com, the campaign was supported through City of Hope’s social media platforms and online outlets where moms were encouraged to submit their own stories of hope. DisneyFamily.com also offered moms the opportunity to enter a sweepstakes and win a spa weekend for two at Canyon Ranch in Arizona to learn how to find greater balance in life through fitness, nutrition and a healthy lifestyle.
