Snap Ships and Boy Scouts

Description:

PlayMonster partnered with the Boy Scouts of America to Inspire Modular Design Learning through its popular Snap Ships Toys in a two tier partnership across 18 months.

The partnership began in November '20 with a tie in to the virtual event the Family Fun Fest which included a special Snap Ships® event segment. Families were invited to participate in a live Snap Ships streaming “build segment” with Q&A and product giveaway featuring Snap Ships influencer “Campbell”. In addition to the live event, families could receive pro-build tips from Campbell and watch a Snap Ships commercial on Cub Scouts’ social channels. A month-long online giveaway extended the momentum of the event. During each week of the sweepstakes, one winner was selected to win a designated ship from the Snap Ships fleet. The program was supported with visibility on the Fan Fest Event Page, Bryan on Scouting Blog, Emails including Fun Fest Subscribers Email, Scouting Wire Parent Newsletter, and Scouting Wire Volunteer Newsletter.

Based on the success of the Family Fun Fest, the partners expanded their collaboration to include a custom "Modular Design & Build" Preview Adventure that Cub Scouts can earn to learn the principles of modular building. As part of the program, PlayMonster contributed 12.000 Snap Ships sample products to kids attending Day Caps and Summer Camps to introduce them to the Snap Ships experience and also created a custom SKU, especially for the program to help the Scouts complete their Preview Adventure and earn their certificate. This program extension included additional support such as Florida zoom event with more than 100 Scouts in attendance, Scout Life Magazine Ads and Social Media Posts, a Facebook Live Stream, Sponsored Blog Post, Web Banners, and Contest Messaging.
