Snapchat partnered with L'Oréal to release the 1st augmented reality lens on Snap's desktop app.

Snapchat collaborated with L'Oréal to put out an AR lens on Snap's desktop app that allowed customers to virtually try on makeup and beauty brands. To access, users went to the dedicated "beauty" area on Snap's opening page on its desktop app.

There were 8 branded lenses in total when the partnership rolled out. The AR lens from Snap and L'Oréal offered customers the chance to digitally try on brands such as Garnier, Lancome, L'Oréal  Paris and Maybelline.

The AR Snap looks from L'Oréal's spanned product types to include hair color, makeup, fragrance and skincare.
