Partnership:

TERMINATOR SALVATION and 7-Eleven

Description:

Warner Bros. Pictures and 7-Eleven teamed up to promote the theatrical release of TERMINATOR: SALVATION. Leading up to the movie's May 21 release, 7-Eleven promoted the movie in its stores and online, and the brand was also featured in the movie. 7-Eleven did extensive point-of-purchase offerings around its Slupree drinks including a movie-themed flavor called "Apocalyptic Ice," a combination of blood orange and lychee, developed for 7-Eleven by Coca-Cola. Stores also carried a series of themed collectible cups and straws featuring machines from the movie in graphics that make the scenes appear to move. Participating stores carried licensed toys and merchandise, featuring movie characters. 7-Eleven also is featured in the film, with the store becoming engulfed in a nuclear blast but surviving, and serving as a haven for the human rebels. The promotion was supported by a sweepstakes online at www.slurpee.com. Slurpee cups had codes that can be entered on the site for prizes via the sweepstakes and instant-win games.Grand Prize winners received custom-made Limited Edition Xbox 360 consoles branded with TERMINATOR: SALVATION graphics. Other prizes include a TERMINATOR: SALVATION video game and Xbox subscriptions and gear. Participating 7-Eleven stores sold the TERMINATOR: SALVATION video game, which also features a digital version of a 7-Eleven store. The convenience store chain ran radio ads promoting the TERMINATOR: SALVATION campaign in select markets.
