NBC Universal and The Clorox Company teamed up to promote THE BIGGEST LOSER with the "Doing a World of Good" Sweepstakes. Contestants over the age of 18 entered the sweepstakes by filling out a registration form at http://brita.eprize.net/filterforgood. The sweepstakes ran from September 16, 2008 through December 21, 2008. The winners were chosen randomly after the sweepstakes had ended. There were 5 Grand Prize winners who won a one-year gym membership, THE BIGGEST LOSER top meal plan package, a one-year subscription to Prevention magazine, a bodybugg, THE BIGGEST LOSER Cookbook, a Brita Deluxe pitcher, and The Lazy Environmentalist: Your Guide to Easy Stylish Green Living. There were 50 First Prize winners who won THE BIGGEST LOSER Cookbook, a one-year subscription to Prevention magazine, a Brita Deluxe pitcher, and The Lazy Environmentalist.
