The Style Network and Unilever partnered to promote both THE LOOK FOR LESS television show and Suave brand. The "America`s Smartest Shopper" contest gave consumers a chance to win a grand prize of $20,000 and an appearance on The Style Network`s THE LOOK FOR LESS. To enter participants completed the official entry form including a 250 word essay on why they are America`s Smartest Shopper at http://www.suave.com/smartshopper/details.htm. Essays were judged according to established criteria and 100 national semi-finalists were selected and awarded $250. All 100 semi-finalists were asked to submit a videotape and/or photographs and complete a detailed application for the chance to become one of the four finalists. The four finalists and their guests went to the World’s Longest Yard Sale, where they competed for the $20,000 grand prize. Each contestant received a shopping mission from THE LOOK FOR LESS host, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, and $250 to spend. Completion of the missions determined the grand prize winner, as judged by THE LOOK FOR LESS team. The competition was taped for a future episode of The Style Network’s THE LOOK FOR LESS. The contest ran January 26-March 31, 2004.
