Universal Studios teamed up with Moviefone and Papa John’s Pizza to promote the release of MUMMY: TOMB OF THE DRAGON EMPEROR. “The Dragon Emperor’s Challenge” was an online game and in which contestants could “unlock the secrets of the mummy’s tomb”. Once contestants registered online at www.moviefone.com, they were eligible to win numerous daily prizes, depending on their game scores. Every day, five winners could receive DVDs, video games, t-shirts and other MUMMY memorabilia, as well as a Papa John’s $50 gift card. There were three grand prizes given to the winners with the highest total scores. The “Bronze” prize was a home theater system, and the “Silver” was a trip for four to Universal Studios Florida, or Hollywood. The “Gold” grand prize winner received a trip for two to Beijing, China, with airfare, five nights in a hotel, and $1000 cash included. The promotion ran from July 8th to August 4th of 2008.
