Universal Pictures and Campbell's Soup teamed up to promote THE TALE OF DESPEREAUX with an Instant Win game and sweepstakes. Consumers entered by registering on the website (http://www.myslurp.com/royal/enternow.aspx) and submitting a code from a can of Campbell's soup. Consumers could also get a free code from the website. Consumers could play the Instant Win game a maximum of once per day during the promotion period. A consumer knew immediately if he/she had won an Instant Win prize. All consumers who played the Instant Win game were entered into the sweepstakes. Consumers received extra entries into the sweepstakes by playing games on the website or playing the Instant Win game multiple days in a row. The Instant Win prizes were as follows: 20 First Prize winners received a Nintendo Wii, 40 Second Prize winners received a $100 American Express gift card, 229 Third Prize winners received an iPod Shuffle, 3,711 Fourth Prize winners received 2 movie tickets to see THE TALE OF DESPEREAUX. One Grand Prize winner was randomly selected at the end of the promotional period and received a seven-night Caribbean Cruise for six including $1,200 in spending money. The promotion began November 1, 2008 and ended March 31, 2009.
