Kellogg's and Universal Pictures partnered to promote the "CAT IN THE HAT Check" trivia sweepstakes. Winning boxes of specially-marked packages of Corn Pops cereal contained one of four hats representing Extreme Sports, Music, Movies, and Pop-Luck. Boxes that weren't a winner encouraged consumers to log on to the Kellogg's Corn Pop website and follow the on-screen instructions for other prizes. The online contest asked participants to choose one of four different trivia categories (extreme sports, music, movies, or pop-luck). To play, participants responded to five trivia questions from the category of their choice. All five questions must have been answered correctly to be entered into the drawing. One daily winner was selected by random for all of the categories combined. One prize was awarded each day (totaling 365) which included a $50 Sporting Goods Gift Card, a $50 Music Gift Card,a $50 Movie Gift Card, a Portable MP3/CD Player, a Wristwatch, and 35mm Zoom Lens Camera. The sweepstakes ran 9/24/2003 through 9/23/2004.
