Walt Disney Studios partnered with Verizon Wireless as well as ten other brands to promote its live-action film NATIONAL TREASURE, in theaters Nov. 19. With an estimated $160 million marketing effort, this was the largest in-house campaign for a Disney live-action film. Among various promotions, Verizon Wireless launched a text-messaging sweepstakes for NATIONAL TREASURE with a grand prize of $10,000, which was supported by TV, online, in-store, in print and in bill-insert advertising. Verizon also offered “Treasure” games and wallpapers to its cell phone customers. Also, access to information about the movie and cast was provided to Verizon Wireless Mobile Web 2.0 customers.
