DreamWorks Animation SKG partnered with insurance company, AAA, for the theatrical release of TURBO. AAA created a special public service announcement that promoted the importance of safe driving. The PSA complemented a film integration that featured both the AAA IndyCar and AAA tow truck. AAA IndyCar driver Helio Castroneves and TURBO starred in the PSA, which premiered during the Auto Club 400 race in Fontana, CA on March 24, 2013 and continued to run on PBS SoCal throughout the year.
