WALT DISNEY STUDIOS and GENERAL MILLS partnered for the theatrical release of STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS. GENERAL MILLS cereal boxes contained different STAR WARS images.
• Honey Nut Cheerios featured BuzzBee dressed as Darth Vader
• Mini Trix featured the Trix Rabbit dressed as Princess Leia
• Cinnamon Toast Crunch featured the TIE fighters
• Cookie Crisp featured Chip the of Wolf dressed as Stormtrooper
• Reese’s Puffs featured the Millennium Falcon flying through an asteroid field of puffs
In each box of GENERAL MILLS cereals, fans received one of six Droid Viewers shaped as a STAR WARS Droid like R2-D2 and allowed fans to see an image from the film. A limited edition BB-8 Droid Viewer can also be found in specially marked boxes of Cinnamon Toast Crunch at select Target stores.
This promotion was featuered in two Television commercials.
