Description

Partners, from large corporations to local businesses, are uniquely positioned to work with us to help further our mission and realize a return on investment in the process. As business leaders, you understand that cancer is not only a health issue, but also a core business issue, and that preventing the disease ensures a healthier workforce and community.

Your company’s partnership can help fund essential patient support programs, life-saving research, advocacy efforts, and more. Connect with your employees, your community, and your customers – all while joining the fight to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer.

The American Cancer Society supports people with cancer and their families through every step of their cancer journey. We help people find answers and resources, whether they want to understand their diagnosis and treatment options, how to cope with side effects, or find transportation or a place to stay when treatment is far from home. We work with health care providers, health systems, and public health organizations in the US and globally to address cancer disparities and reduce barriers across the cancer care continuum, resulting in increased screening and vaccination rates, more effective patient support services, and greater access to treatments and pain relief.

Below are some of the ways we are already making progress in the fight against cancer. By continuing this crucial work, we can advance health equity for all and create impactful change.

  • We provide information and answers when people with cancer and their caregivers need them through our 24/7 helpline at 1-800-227-2345 and our cancer.org website. Our trained cancer information specialists are available to provide guidance and help find answers through phone, video calls, and online live chat.
  • Our volunteers help people with cancer get to medical appointments and treatment. The American Cancer Society Road To Recovery® program removes barriers to cancer treatment by providing free transportation for people facing cancer through trained volunteer drivers.
  • Our Hope Lodge® communities provide a home away from home for people with cancer and their caregivers in a supportive, caring environment so they can focus on getting better. Every Hope Lodge location offers cancer patients and their caregivers a free place to stay when their best hope for effective treatment may be far away from home.
  • We help people catch cancer early when it may be easier to treat. We know that catching cancer early increases survival rates. The American Cancer Society has helped deliver more than one million low- or no-cost cancer screenings to those in need.
  • We fund health equity grants and screening programs to help reduce disparities in cancer care among communities of color. Black women are diagnosed with breast cancer at similar rates as white women, yet they have a 41% higher risk of dying from it.
  • We help patients access equitable care by supporting Patient Navigation programs that connect cancer patients with volunteer health system ‘navigators’ who provide individualized assistance to patients, families, and caregivers. Patient Navigation can improve the overall paitent care experience – from pre-diagnosis through survivorship – and lead to sustainable and equitable health solutions for all cancer patients, especially for those who experience barrier to care due to social cultural, or economic barriers.
  • We fight for access to care for all by advocating for high-quality, affordable health care for everyone, including closing the Medicaid coverage gap, through our American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network℠.
  • Our cancer prevention resources help people reduce their cancer risk by educating for healthy lifestyles including eating right, staying active, avoiding tobacco and alcohol, getting recommended cancer screenings, and taking preventive measures.
  • We are working to advance health equity. We believe all people should have a fair and just opportunity to live a longer, healthier life free from cancer, regardless of how much money they make, the color of their skin, their sexual orientation, gender identity, their disability status, or where they live. This means providing specific tools and resources based on individual needs to allow everyone the opportunity to be as healthy as possible.
