Through Our Eyes is a documentary series produced by Sesame Workshop that offers an intimate and inspiring look into the lives of American Families and the challenges they face.

Season 1 premiered on HBO Max in July 2021 and featured four half-hour-long episodes, each helmed by a different award-winning documentary filmmaker. The themes of the films included parental incarceration, climate displacement, the wounds of war, and family homelessness, and they highlighted both the innocence and perseverance of children sharing their stories from their own unique perspectives.

The first season has been recognized by a wide array of awards and honors including an Environmental Journalism Award, AFI Audience Award, NAACP Image Award, DGA Award, Humanitas Nomination, Imagen Awards Nomination, and two News and Documentary Emmy Nominations for Outstanding Short Documentary.
