Partnership:

KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES and The Center for Great Apes

Description:
The Center for Great Apes, a sanctuary for orangutans and chimpanzees in need, was a key educational resource for the cast of the 20th Century Studios feature film KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES. Actor Owen Teague, who stars in the lead role of Noa (a young chimpanzee hunter), visited the Center for Great Apes to immerse himself in the world of chimpanzees. During his time spent at the Center for Great Apes, Teague studied the behaviors and mannerisms of a chimpanzee, Bentley, to help him better accurately portray his character, Noa, on screen.  In addition to the actor Owen Teague studying the apes, vocal sounds of the orangutans were recorded at the sanctuary for the film.
