Description:
ABC and Frito-Lay teamed up to promote the ACADEMY AWARDS with a contest. Frito-Lay's True North brand of nuts asked people to log onto its website and tell their story. Participating contestants entered by registering at www.truenorthsnacks.com/story and submitting a story of 300 words or less describing how their life's passion has guided them. A panel of judges determined the winner based on originality, the impact of the submission (personal or public), and the ability of the submission to inspire others. One Grand Prize winner received a check for $25,000 to help pursue his/her passion. The winner's story was also turned into a 60-second commercial directed by ACADEMY AWARD-winner Helen Hunt that aired during the ABC broadcast of the 2009 ACADEMY AWARDS on February 22, 2009.
