20th Century Fox partnered with Shazam for ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS: CHIPWRECKED. By using Shazam, consumers were able to access exclusive content from the movie by tagging the film using the application. Once it was tagged, it resided in the user’s Tag List, allowing them to access CHIPWRECKED content until the end of December, 2011. The exclusive content included a limited-time free download of the film’s hit single, “Vacation,” performed by ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS, an extended ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS: CHIPWRECKED trailer, additional clips from the movie, a link to buy the first two ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS movies on Blu-ray or DVD from Amazon.com, and a link to purchase tickets toALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS: CHIPWRECKED. ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS: CHIPWRECKED released in theaters December 16, 2011.
