The partnership consisted of Universal collaborating with AFI to offer free rentals of DO THE RIGHT THING for a week that began on June 22 and ran through June 29, 2020. The film could be rented free of charge on Amazon, Apple, Charter, Comcast, Cox, Dish, DirecTV, FandangoNOW, Google, Microsoft, Redbox, Sony, Verizon, Vudu, and more.
Additionally, the American Film Institute hosted an online conversation with the director of the film, Spike Lee.
