BMG Entertainment and Ben and Jerry's partnered in the summer of 2005 to promote the DAVE MATTHEWS BAND concert and Ben and Jerry's ice cream. Through the partnership, DAVE MATTHEWS BAND and Ben and Jerry's publicized the issue of global warming. As part of the promotion, DAVE MATTHEWS BAND created a Ben and Jerry's ice cream flavor, DAVE MATTHEWS BAND Magic Brownies. A portion of the profits went to the DAVE MATTHEWS BAND's BamaWorks Foundation to fund global-warming initiatives. Futhermore, DAVE MATTHEWS BAND created a contest where the winner won the opportunity to tour with the band over the 2005 summer as an "enviro-roadie". The winner passed out the special ice cream flavor at concerts and kept a blog of his/her summer at www.lickglobalwarming.org. The contest was called Take a Stand with the Band and began May 16 and ended May 31, 2005. Consumers entered online at www.lickglobalwarming.org and had to write a 250-word essay.
