A game as big as Gears of War 4 warrants its own exclusive music. We partnered iconic hip-hop artists, and gamers, Run the Jewels with Xbox to promote the launch of Gears of War 4 and their upcoming album Run The Jewels 3. The partnership kicked off during the summer when the first Gears of War 4 multiplayer trailer premiered featuring legacy music from Run the Jewels. The program continued into the Autumn at PAX West with the announcement that Killer Mike and El-P, the duo that makes up Run the Jewels, would be playable characters in the game. In addition, the Gears of War team held a Run the Jewels fan meet and greet at world renown apparel shop BAIT. They also premiered an unreleased track from the upcoming Run The Jewels 3 album in Gears of War 4’s Horde 3.0 trailer. Finally, during the Holiday sales period, the Run the Jewels playable characters launched via DLC and the duo performed at The Game Awards, challenging all gamers to take them on in the game.
