Showtime Networks partnered with Verizon for the television show HOMELAND. Verizon held an online sweepstakes where contestants had to visit operationdcsweeps.com and fill out an online entry form. One winner was selected per week for 8 weeks. Prizes included an Amazon Kindle Fire, a Canon camera, an HD camcorder watch, a Garmin nuvi GPS, a pair of REI XR Waterproof Binoculars, a set of Wrist Watch Walkie Talkies, an HD Video Pen, and a Wireless Infrared Security Camera. A Showtime “Swag Bag” with assorted Homeland Premiums accompanied each weekly prize. The Grand Prize winner received a trip to Washington D.C., 4 nights hotel accommodation, a private city tour, 2 tickets to the Crime and International Spy Museum, a private former CIA officer “debriefing,” dinner for two at the Hay-Adams Hotel, traveler gift bags, and a $1000 American Express Gift Card. The sweepstakes ran from August 20, 2012 through October 14, 2012. HOMELAND aired on Showtime Networks, September 30, 2012.
