DreamWorks Animation SKG teamed up with Office Depot and Hewlett Packard to promote MONSTERS VS. ALIENS with the Monster Makeover Sweepstakes and a giveaway. Consumers entered the sweepstakes online at http://www.mymonstermakeover.com/ or at an Office Depot store. One Grand Prize winner was randomly drawn and received a $5,000 Office Depot gift card for an office makeover, a trip for four to San Francisco, an HP TouchSmart computer and an HP wireless printer. Three First Prize winners received an HP Pavilion dv5 Series Entertainment Notebook PC. Three Second Prize winners received an HP wireless printer. 100 Fourth Prize winners received one of the four following items: an original HP ink cartridge; a pair of movie passes; a DreamWorks Animation DVD set (2-pack) or a $25 Office Depot Gift Card. As an added incentive, everyone that registered for the Monster Makeover Sweepstakes also received a free official 11” x 17” MONSTERS VS. ALIENS poster available at Office Depot’s Design, Print & Ship Center. The micro site also featured downloadable movie content such as MONSTERS VS. ALIENS computer wallpaper, screensavers, movie trailers, and an online game. The film was powered by HP technology. HP products using the same technology available at Office Depot allow customers to develop their own projects from their homes or offices. The promotion ran from March 8 through April 11, 2009.
