New Line Cinema and Mercedes-Benz teamed up for the theatrical release of SEX AND THE CITY. Featured in the film are the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, the new 2010 GLK-Class sedan, and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Additional elements include a micro site, displays at dealerships, title sponsorship of the film’s New York City premiere, exclusive screenings prior to the release, and local-market “premiere events.” The SEX AND THE CITY micro site launched at www.mbusa.com/sexandthecity included a virtual tour of New York City’s hotspots as featured in the film. Exclusive photos, videos and downloadable content were featured. On May 27, 2008 Mercedes-Benz was a sponsor for both the New York City premiere, as well as “premiere events” at movie theatres across the United States. Ticket holders at these premiere events watched the red carpet arrivals, followed by a screening of the movie in advance of its nationwide release. Also prior to release, Mercedes-Benz dealers hosted exclusive screenings for to benefit the “Dress for Success” charitable organization. Guests who donated at least one pair of shoes received two complimentary movie tickets. Dealerships also had clips from the film and movie posters for display in showrooms.
