Netflix partnered with Burger King to promote the third season premiere of STRANGER THINGS.

The partnership consisted of an in-store promotion in which select Burger King locations in the U.S. served customized menu items that were STRANGER THINGS branded. These restaurants served an Upside Down Whopper inspired by the Upside Down parallel world of monsters featured in the show. The Whopper featured branded packaging with the same ingredients as the original Whopper but served upside down.

In addition to the Upside Down Whopper, the partnership also consisted of STRANGER THINGS t-shirts, crowns, condiment packets and pins being showcased in Burger King locations. There was also a Hopper Meal offered by Burger King, named after the police chief from the series.

The in-store promotion began on June 21, 2019 and encompassed 11 stores which was reminiscent of the character Eleven from the show.

The campaign also included a contest presented with Coca-Cola. When customers purchase a soft drink at one of those eleven locations, they had the chance to win free food, cash, airline tickets and more. There was also a STRANGER THINGS VIP Experience.
