20th Century Fox Home Entertainment partnered with Major League Baseball to promote the release of the THE SANDLOT: 25TH ANNIVERSARY Collector's Edition. The partnership included movie-themed games at ballparks across the country, screenings of the film around MLB-supported events, giveaways, and co-branded merchandise available for purchase online and at retail stores. Movie-inspired PLAY BALL t-shirts were also worn by players while taking batting practice during each Club's official PLAY BALL WEEKEND activation during the season.

As an example of one activation included in the overall partnership with MLB, the Los Angeles Dodgers welcomed the original cast of the film for a special SANDLOT-themed event on June 16, 2018. Prior to the start of the game, the team took photos on the field and followed with a takeover of the Dodger's social media channels. Tom Guiry, who played Scotty Smalls in the film, participated in an interview with the Dodger's Radio team, while Patrick Renna, who played "Ham" did an on-field pregame interview for fans.

The cast was introduced along the third baseline before running out to the field, taking their respective positions with David Mickey Evans, the film's writer and director, throwing out the first pitch. The talent then announced "It's time for Dodger baseball!" It was the highest attended MLB game at that point in the 2018 season. The activation was promoted with custom-made and live content throughout THE SANDLOT's and Fox Home Entertainment's social media pages.
