Fortnite has unveiled its latest collaboration with Marvel Studios, introducing new skins inspired by Thunderbolts — but with a creative twist that sets this crossover apart.
The collaboration features two of the film’s characters, Winter Soldier and White Widow, reimagined in a striking “pen and ink” comic book style, delivering a fresh visual approach distinct from past Marvel tie-ins. This detailed, hand-drawn aesthetic offers fans a bold, stylized look that departs from Fortnite’s usual movie-accurate skins.
However, the designs are not direct replicas of the upcoming Thunderbolts film versions. Instead, players will find the Winter Soldier as he appeared in Captain America: Brave New World and a comic-inspired White Widow, with notable differences in costume and design from what’s expected in the film. These skins also do not feature the likenesses of the actors, including Florence Pugh, further emphasizing the comic-based interpretation.
Players eager to earn these limited-edition skins can participate in the Thunderbolts Cup, a tournament taking place Wednesday, April 30 at 8 PM ET. Winners will have the opportunity to unlock both Bucky and Yelena skins for free. For those who miss the tournament, the skins are expected to be available for purchase in the Fortnite Item Shop, potentially as early as April 25.
With the introduction of this new art style and the excitement surrounding Thunderbolts, Fortnite continues to push creative boundaries, offering players new ways to experience their favorite characters. Fans can look forward to seeing how these comic-style skins perform in-game — and possibly more designs in this bold aesthetic in the future.
