The TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL and Verizon Wireless teamed up to showcase multimedia products through The Verizon Mini Movie Studio at their Tribeca Family Festival. The Verizon Mini Movie Studio allowed children to dress in costumes and become one of five Mini Movie Stars and virtually experience super powers on a green screen set. Mini Movie video clips were sent to parents who had MMA capable phones or to the microsite www.myminimoviestar.com where individuals could view the film. Participants were also able to animate Mini Movie characters with their cell phones or demo phones. Children were able to interact with various Mini Movie characters using phone dial pads. Every visitor to the tent received Mini Movie Star-branded candy, tee shirts, bags, phone stickers and an entry for a chance to win a Mini Movie Star plus toy and other prizes. The event occurred on May 3, 2008.
