Mazda will support the June launch of its RX-8 halo car with advertising deals revolving around the car`s star turn in X2, the sequel to Fox`s 2001 hit X-MEN. In the movie, the character Cyclops, played by James Marsden, drives a cobalt blue RX-8 with an X-shaped grill and spoiler. A series of TV ads, promoting the tie-in launched before the movie opened, including scenes from the film. Mazda offered trailers of X-Men 2 on its RX-8 microsite at Mazdausa.com, and Fox cross-promoted it with a link to Mazda`s site on Foxmovies.com.
